Georgette Dixon / The address to the graduating seniors will be given by Georgette "Gigi" Dixon, executive vice president and director of external engagement for Wells Fargo's diverse segments, representation, and inclusion.

Dixon herself is an HBCU graduate, having earned a Bachelor of Science with distinction in speech communications and theatre from Tennessee State University (TSU). She holds certificates from the Boston College Carroll School of Management in Corporate Community Involvement and Nonprofit Leadership. Her upbringing in the South during desegregation, as well as her achievements at Tennessee State, paved the way for a career and life work in diversity and inclusion. On Friday, December 9, at 10 a.m., Livingstone College will hold its annual December Conferral of Degrees at Varick Auditorium on campus.

Wells Fargo executive vice president and head of External Engagement for Diverse Segments, Representation, and Inclusion Georgette “Gigi” Dixon will deliver the commencement address to the graduating seniors. During the program, Dixon will also receive an honorary doctorate in humane letters from the college’s Board of Trustees.

Dixon is no stranger to Livingstone College, but her relationship with the historic black college has been revitalized thanks to Livingstone President Dr. Anthony J. Davis. This will be his first commencement as the college’s new president.

“Mrs. Dixon is a key influencer who uses her platform and insight to support communities and organizations doing critical work for society,” Davis said. “As the 13th President, I am committed to connecting our students with people who can help them unlock their potential and unleash their power.”
